Who We Are?

 

GeoSisters is a geospatial community for women dedicated to empowering girls, students, and professionals pursuing careers in GIS, remote sensing, mapping, and related spatial technologies. We bring together women from across Kenya and East Africa to learn, connect, collaborate, and lead within the growing geospatial sector.

Our organization was founded to address the gender gap in geoscience fields by creating accessible opportunities and a strong support network for women at all career stages.

Year founded : 2025

The committee agreed that the organization will be
registered as a Company Limited By Grants. (CLG).

Our Mission Statement


To create an inclusive and supportive ecosystem that empowers women in geospatial fields through professional development, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and advocacy for gender equity in STEM.

We achieve this by:
Building a strong professional network for connection and collaboration.
Providing accessible training and capacity-building opportunities.
Advocating for equal representation and opportunities in the geospatial industry.
Creating platforms for women to showcase their work and achievements.
